以美丽的奇幻世界为舞台的纵向卷轴射击游戏。
为了拯救罹患神秘瘟疫的一族，主人公Reco公主决定去见“甲兽神”。生动精致的画面、充满魅力的角色，以及精彩炫目的射击体验。超人气射击游戏于Steam隆重登场。在军事主题居多的射击游戏中大放异彩，堪称Cave公司射击游戏史上数一数二的高人气游戏。
本作与《虫姬》系列的续篇《虫姬 两人》同时在多平台上推出，为Cave公司首次推出的Steam版本。
